More than 40 ROC leaders headed to CLI this fall

The applicants accepted to the 2017 Community Leadership Institute have been selected and notifications went out late this week.

Gary Faucher, national training manager with ROC USA® Network, said narrowing down the list was very difficult.

More and more ROC leaders have attended CLI every year.

“With more than 100 applications, there were some very difficult decisions to make as we had an abundance of qualified and enthusiastic applicants,” Faucher said. “Congratulations to the upcoming CLI Class of 2017!”

CLI is a three-day training conference for ROC leaders from across the country.  Since 2009, ROC USA® has been taking six to nearly 50 ROC leaders to what has become a perennial favorite for community leaders and staff alike.

The CLI offers a great opportunity to talk with community leaders from other ROCs, engage with ROC USA leaders, and take workshops on leadership.  All of the attendees are volunteer neighborhood leaders, though ROC leaders are the only ones who represent an association that owns their communities.

Everyone who has ever come has raved about the value of the experience, and many reapply in following years. ROC leaders are encouraged to apply with another leader from their community.  Leaders from the same community who have attended together often say that it is very beneficial to have a second ROC partner.

To be alerted to the opening of the application process next year, simply email Deb Wyman and ask to be put on the 2018 list.
