Mary O’Hara

Mary O’Hara joined ROC USA® in 2008 as the Founding Director of ROC USA® Network and transitioned to Executive Vice President, ROC Movement, in February 2022. 

Mary supports ROC USA’s strategic priority to ensure its historic work in community-driven change in neighborhoods is reflected (and magnified) in statewide and national change efforts. 

Mary equips the ROC Association and co-op leaders and Members who are driving the national ROC movement through outreach and education, peer networking, and public policy support.

Prior to assuming her new role, Mary led ROC USA Network for 14 years, where she was instrumental in overseeing ROC USA’s affiliates and technical assistance. 

Before joining ROC USA Network, Mary spent 15 years providing a wide range of community investment and development consulting services as a principal in Burlington Associates in Community Development, LLC, a national consulting cooperative.

Mary has 25 years of experience in the field of community development lending and community reinvestment. She has served in leadership positions at the Massachusetts Urban Reinvestment Advisory Group, Boston Community Capital, and the Institute for Community Economics.

Mary holds a bachelor’s degree in government and human services from Cornell University, School of Human Ecology. In 2014, Mary graduated from Achieving Excellence in Community Development, a joint 18-month Executive Education program with NeighborWorks® America and Harvard University. 

When she’s not working, Mary loves spending time outside. She especially loves participating in active outdoor activities like running, hiking, biking, swimming, and skating. She also enjoys camping, reading, and growing vegetables.
